Dr. Myers is a medical doctor with extensive training in Functional and Integrative Medicine, as well as Nutrition.
She has trained under the country's leading Function Medicine and Integrative Medicine physicians Dr. Mark Hyman and Dr. Andrew Weil.
Dr. Myers completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Maryland / Shock Trauma. Prior to opening Austin UltraHealth. She worked as an ER physician at the University Medical Center at Breckenridge and Dell Childrens Medical Center in Austin.
Additionally, she was a Clinical Assistant Professor at UTMB and served on the Seton Willamson GoodHealth Commons Advisory Board.
Dr. Myers has had a life-long passion for natural health and nutrition.
After graduating Cum Laude from the Honors College at the University of South Carolina, she spent 2 1/2 years serving as a US Peace Corps Volunteer in Paraguay, South America. There she taught organic farming, nutrition and cooking classes, and cultivated and exported Stevia to the USA and Japan.
Prior to medical school, she researched Noni Juice and its anti-tumor and anti-cancer properties and currently has a US patent pending for that research.
While in medical school at Louisiana State University Health Science Center in New Orleans, Dr. Myers served as President of the Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) Interest group and was instrumental in getting CAM training into the LSU Medical School curriculum. Dr. Myers completed all of her electives with Functional and Integrative Medicine physicians including Dr. Andrew Weil, at the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine.
She has also spent time with Dr. Mark Hyman, the most influential Functional Medicine physician in the world, at his clinic the UltraWellness Clinic in Lenox, MA. Dr. Myers has also completed several hundreds of hours of training by the Institute of Functional Medicine.
